Summer Red Maple

This beautiful broadleaf tree has an upright oval form - grows 35 to 40 feet tall with 20 to 25 feet of spread at maturity. The foliage it has is very distinctive; new growth is burgandy-red; mature leaves are glossy, dark, purplish green with a silver white leaf back; while it's fall leaf color will be yellow, orange, and purple. This maple's coloration is one of its distinctive attributes as well as its adaptability to the deep south. It does well in areas where other acer rubrum cultivars do not receive enough winter cold chilling hours for optimal growth.
